MEGAsync 4.7.0 Multilingual Free Download

MEGAsync is available as a free download from our software library. This is a simple and easy-to-use application that allows you to create a path between a local source folder and a cloud drive, to perform file synchronization. The app requires you to create a MEGA account and set up your cloud drive, then select a local source folder for syncing. Once you register, the rest of the process is simple. All you have to do is copy or update the files you want to sync in the local dedicated folder. The transfer is done instantly.

Does the world really need yet another cloud backup storage solution? The answer is yes when you take a closer look at what MEGA, the brainchild of Kim Dotcom, has to offer. First, there is the offer of 20GB of free storage (limited to 10GB of bandwidth per month), with paid plans offering 2TB of monthly bandwidth from $9.99 per month or $99 per year.
Second, MEGA promises really tight security: 2048-bit RSA encryption no less. Your password acts as the master encryption key, so if it’s strong enough it should be impervious even to brute force attacks. Be careful, though: there are no password reset options, so if you forget it, all data not shared with others will be lost.
Having 50GB on hand is very useful, but to take advantage of it, you’ll want a client that can make it easy to upload and sync data between your machines. This is that customer.
Once installed, you can either sync the entire contents of your MEGA drive or just specific folders on it to your computer. These are located in a MEGA folder created in your personal Documents folder – if this doesn’t fit, go to the Sync tab of the program’s settings to remove the default selection and add your choice of location instead. A little hard, but at least it can be done.
All data already in your cloud account will then download to your computer, while any files or folders copied or updated into this folder will in turn upload back to your MEGA account online. Open the folder in Windows Explorer and you’ll see little progress icons – a red cross, a blue sync and a green tick – indicating whether the files are syncing with your online storage or not.
Click the app’s system tray icon for a more comprehensive view of what’s going on behind the scenes: what’s synced, recently synced items, and access to the most important settings. From here you can make some adjustments, and even optimize the client’s bandwidth so that uploading doesn’t cripple your internet connection (most of the time, the automatic setting should be fine).
